Save our Soles!

I went into Lush last week for the first time in months to pick a present up and decided to get a few things for myself.

I picked these up last minute as they were on the counter when I went to pay. The lady serving me was saying how you can totally replace toothpaste with these, or just use them a few times a week, and how she personally keeps them in her bag and just uses them to freshen up throughout the day so I've decided to do the same. You just put a tab in your mouth and break it up with your teeth then use your toothbrush to work it round your mouth the same way you would with toothpaste. The only thing is = they taste absolutely rank, it is the sodium bicarbonate, so the only saving grace is you know that although its a minging taste it is doing good! There are a few different flavours of these and I wouldn't mind picking up the Sparkly ones. I think they are fab for taking away, toothpaste can leak or whatever but these would be great. They cost £2.75 and you get 40 tabs in a box.  You can pick them up online and see the different flavours they come in here.

Karma Bubble Bar for my mum, no explanation needed really!

I had spotted the Stepping Stone (the green foot shaped product) and popped it into the basket on its own at first. Then an assistant came over and you know how it is, they show you everything in the shop and when she  spotted the Stepping Stone she showed me the Happy Feet gift set they have on at the moment. In this pack you get what you see above - Stepping Stone, Fair Trade Foot Lotion and Volcano Foot Mask. She showed me on my hands a run down of what they do - first up, apply the Volcano Foot Mask all over feet. Now, on the instructions you are then told to wrap your feet in a plastic bag and wait for ten minutes. As I've only ever used this in the bath, after I've had a wash I just slather it on and then sit with my feet out of the bath for ten minutes, and exfoiliate etc whilst I'm waiting and this still has a brilliant effect on my feet so wrapping in bags would only accentuate this! After ten minutes has passed, put your feet back into the water and rub the mask off your feet. It made my feet feel all soft and relaxed!

The next step is to break a bit off the Stepping Stone and rub it into your foot. Once it makes contact with the water it goes all fizzy and smells absolutely gorgeous. It's also a pumice so it will loosen up all the dry skin you have on your feet and also contains jojoba oil will means they won't be left all dry, it will moisturise them. It also cools your feet, even when your feet are plunged back into the hot water they tingle and feel cool, so this is a great product to have for the summer months when you've been on your feet all day!

Once you've done that to both feet and washed and dried them, the final step is to apply the Fair Trade Foot Lotion. You can believe me when I tell you that my feet are so gross I have tried SO many foot creams, my favourites I wrote about here, and I have actually tried one from Lush a long time ago. I think it was Pied De Pepper and I hated it, it did absolutely nothing for me and I would never purchase it again. So when I bought this I didn't actually hold much hope that it would be any good, but I'm always willing to try out new foot creams... this is amazing. It seriously works, my feet are left looking actually decent after using. I put it on and then put a pair of socks on and in the morning when I take them off my feet are soft, smooth and look good!

Stepping Stone is £2.80, some reviews say they got three uses out of it but for me personally I think more around the 6/7 mark if you're careful when breaking bits off, a little goes a long way! The Volcano Foot Mask costs £5.50 for 125g of product and again, you will get a lot of use from one tub. The Fair Trade Foot Lotion costs £8.95 for 225g of product and I think this is definitely going to be a staple in my beauty products from now on! The 'Happy Feet' kit that I bought contains all of these products (albeit it smaller tubs, you can see the size on the picture above) along with a head scarf and costs £10.95. If you don't know whether to spend money on the full sized ones, because you might dislike it or whatever then I would definitely recommend getting this to try it out, I'm sure you will love it!

The final thing I picked up has been on my list for a long time now, as you can see it is the Ocean Salt Facial Scrub. I have read so many mixed reviews on this, some people swear by it, some people say it is too harsh. I picked up the smaller tub which costs £6.75. And I love it! It smells absolutely amazing. When you first get it all the salt is on the top and it needs mixing up. The salt can be a little bit too big sometimes, and I can see why this product would break certain skin types out. I wouldn't use it every day as I think it might dry my skin out a bit but I use it every other night and want to eat my face off when it's on, it's literally that good.

I haven't been sent any of these products by the way, I paid for them myself and just wanted to let you all know how good they are!

Has anyone used these and had different views to me on them?

Amy Winehouse

I know that so many of these posts will be popping up all over your dash, but I couldn't not post myself.

I know Amy had a lot of problems over the years but when I heard of her death this afternoon I was truly devastated and upset by it. She was so talented and Frank and Back to Black have been very well listened to in my music collection. Some of the things I've seen people tweeting tonight have utterly disgusted me. She may have had an addiction but it doesn't take away the fact that she was somebodys daughter, a person, she didn't 'deserve' it. I still honestly can't believe it, there were always reports of her being clean and what not again, she had been in rehab recently again, it's just so terribly sad to me.

MAC Semi Precious/Fashion Flower

I knew that the one thing I wanted to pick up from these collections when I first saw then on Temptalia was the Ever Hip lipstick (Fashion Flower). I'm a bit of a sucker for eyeshadows as well so when I saw the ones released with Semi Precious I thought I might have a little splurge there too!

Some  of them are beautiful, agree? But I managed to restrain myself remembering how all the times in the past I have picked up shadows like this I have been so disappointed with the colour pay off. Also at £16 a shadow I didn't have that much money to play with...

I ended up walking away with the lipstick I wanted, and as I'd saved 6 empties for the past couple of months and traded them in for this I felt it was only right I spend a bit more on other products?

I've used Ever Hip every day this week and have to say I'm in love with it! It's a gorgeous corally shade and perfect for summer!

I've never owned any MSF's before and so decided to pick up the two above. I've used the Peal one mostly every day and the Rose Quartz one just the once.

Did you pick anything up?

Recent buys: June/July part 2

Hey gals

So I mentioned last time that I travelled to London with the lovely Phoebe for a Aussie event, and we managed to get a spot of shopping in. I have been before but each time I just cannot get over how massive Topshop is! It was so, so hot anyway on the Saturday in question but in there? OMG I seriously couldn't take it. It was sale time as well which added to the full/hot problem and after a quick scoot I just wanted to check out the accessories and make up section. Heres what I picked up:

I'm yet to use the liner but the other stuff was around £2.50 and has been worn a lot since I picked them up. I also bought some sunnies and an angel wing ring the previous week which I am still in love with.

Yesterday I nipped to the White Rose Centre and couldn't resist seeing what my local Topshop had in the sale...I came away with all this for £19.

Apologies for the mammoth amount of photographs! Whilst we're on the subject of jewellery I wanted to show you this that I picked up from Etsy a couple of months ago now but its rarely off my wrist - along with my peace bracelet I bought from Claires which I haven't photographed, I literally wear them everyday.

Does anyone else seem to have an obsession at the moment with jewellery?! I can't stop buying it!

Recent buys: June part 1

Back at the very beginning of June you may remember I took a trip to the Trafford Centre, ultimately for a little Xen Tan Event and for lots of shopping! I know its a way back but I never posted the pics of what I picked up, so thought I may as well include them in this post.

I haven't included a close up of the polish as its a classic Models Own glitter polish (<3) and I cannot for the life of me photograph it. The purse was around £17 I think - although if you are lucky I noticed they are selling the clutch bag version for £17 now in the sale! Wow although its literally a month and a day since I bought this it looks so dirty in comparrison now!! I can't keep anything clean I'm useless.

I also picked up from River Island the top I wore in my last post, a few people asked where it was from - heres your answer! It was £20 when I picked it up, then I saw it go down to £10 a week later but last time I saw it was back up at £20.

I have been in need of a new perfume for a while and I also had a £10 voucher to put towards it, so I picked up a perfume I have literally been wanting to buy for years. It's that perfume that whenever I step in a shop that has it I feel obliged to pick it up and spray all over me, and since buying this I have had SO many compliments on it - I have never had so many people comment on it before. This is definitely 'my' perfume and will be a staple for me for the future!!

I only picked up the 30ml but I love it even more because of how small the bottle is, perfect for my handbag and I'm pretty in love with the little stopper as well, I've had so much trouble in the past with perfume leaking here there and everywhere!

At the Xen Tan counter I had a consultation with the lovely Amy who ran through all the products with me telling me what they all did, and explained lots of tanning bits to me! She also sent me away with the Xen Tan Deep Bronze Luxe which I have almost run out of now. I've kept up to applying it since the day I was given it and have to say that I love it! I'm totally not a pro and have tell tale marks from time to time but its been brilliant for giving me colour and I will definitely repurchase this pretty soon! I also bought the body scrub to go with it and whilst I do love the smell the product itself annoys me a bit...I don't know if it is just me but the pump is so tight, you get the tinest bit ever out of the bottle and I've actually given up trying these days, I just unscrew the lid and slather it on that way! I understand the scrub is free from all the oils that most other exfoliating scrubs contain meaning your fake tan lasts longer and is less likely to look patchy but I don't think I will be spending another £15 on this.

Have you picked up any good buys lately? I also picked up a couple of things from Illamasqua at the Trafford Centre but as I picked up some more in London I'll include them in all in one post!
