New Years Resolutions

1. To stop apologising for not blogging and actually blog! My heart has not really been into blogging lately, I've barely been checking my reader (but I will!) and honestly I can think of nothing to blog about half the time. 2011 needs me to get back into it - I love reading back and seeing whats happened in the past, its why I started blogging and I don't want to stop now.

I have recently changed my skincare routine and thought I would share with you what I'm currently using, I don;t really seem to blog about skincare, it isn't something I give a lot of thought to at all, I'm pretty damn lazy truth be told. I'll think of a routine and eventually forget about it, I'm useless. But I've been using this for a few weeks now so I thought I'd blog about it - at least if I do get lazy when i read back on this post I'll pick it up again!

Mac Pro Eye Make Up Remover

I received a small sample of this in an online order I placed recently and have been using this up. I'm glad it's only a sample because I don't overly rate it - I wouldn't have wanted to part with £13. It doesn't remove all of my eye make up, it does remove the majority of it but I still have a hell of a lot left on after using it.

The Body Shop Nutriganics Foaming Facial Wash

Back sometime last year I was sent so many different products, along with the ones I bought myself after reading many reviews, I didn't have chance to use certain ones. I've had a clear out of my things lately and found the Nutriganics range I was sent and have been using these. I love foaming facial washes and I really like this one. I love the smell and it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft, and I would definitely repurchase. You can find it here for £8.00.

The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum

Again, this was sent to me by The Body Shop last year. I have to say that there are few Body Shop products I dislike, and this is no exception. I again love the smell of this and the non greasiness. For 30ml the price is £13 - usually i find when a bottle says you need one pump of product you actually need more but one pump of this is enough to cover your face and neck.

Moisturisers

This sounds like it is turning into a Body Shop post! Lastly for the Nutriganics range I was sent the Smoothing Day Cream which I am using as a daily moisturiser. My favourite moisturiser is Garnier Pure Active (nothing beats the smell - I love it!!) but I do like this one and I like using it together with the other items in the range (I'm really fussy about mixing and matching different ranges!).

Lastly on a night I am applying The Body Shop Vitamin E SPF 15 Moisture Lotion. I have bought this frequently for the past two years and \although it is not a night cream I apply it last thing before I go to bed as I find it such a thick moisturiser, it really sinks in and leaves my skin feeling so soft. It's £10 for 50ml.

Temple Spa

I recently was invited to a Temple Spa party at my friends. I had actually never heard of Temple Spa before the party but now have a pretty major wish list!! I only purchased two things at the time but I can't wait to buy more when I get paid. I picked up the Breakfast Smoothie Naturally Normal Exfoliator. This. Smells. AMAZING. The key ingredients listed on the website are:

Apricot Kernel Oil, Jojoba, Honey, Pear & Apple Juice, Strawberry juice, Allantoin, OIive Oil, Oats, Papaya, Orange, Squalane

I love that this is mild enough to be able to use more than once a week - I try get three uses a week at least, usually every other day if I remember.

Has anyone else got any products from Temple Spa they love?

River Island

I have a love hate relationship with River Island. At times, I adore it and can find so many things I want. Others, I find it OK, but nothing fits me and other times I think its just plain crap - too expensive and bad quality, I've blogged about it numerous times. However at the moment there are so many things I want from there! I'm going to head down tomorrow (payday!) and pick up a few bits, but I thought I would show you a few of the things I am lusting after right now:

Weekly update!

Hey girlies :)

I haven't taken any pics this week so can't really do a post like before but I thought I'd do a quick in/out post as its late and I don't have time to do a proper one!

IN

Gavin and Stacey - I had totally forgotten just how much I LOVE this show. It never fails to make me laugh and I have been watching it all these past few weeks!

Nails - Nail varnish is acutall cheering my up at the moment, painting my nails every night trying new things and trying to get back into Konad! (and failing)

Aussie parties - I am so happy to be an Aussie Angel and love these parties and events that keep cropping up! Looking forward to this coming Saturday to see my lovely girlies again :)

OUT

I've over-worn my contact lenses (again) - I'm sure I've mentioned it before on here but I HATE wearing my glasses and therefore I wear my contacts far more than I should. Wearing them too long starves the eye of oxygen and can create ulcers on your pupil - not nice. I have now had three and have had to wear my glasses non stop for the past two weeks. I'm going for a check up tomorrow and PRAYING that she will give me the all clear!!

I feel like a lot of things seem to be going wrong at the moment and it's driving me crazy!!

When it rains, it pours for real right?

I miss my old flat :( I think it's just old memories, knowing this time last year I was just getting settled in and so excited.

Good Times

I have been such a bad blogger in the past year, but I promise I'm going to change all that now!

I kinda want to jump on the bandwagon of posting pics each week of what I've been up to but think I may start that next week, so thought I'd maybe ease into it by posting a few photos of what October has been about for me...

1/2-Nights out with my fabulous friends - Lauren to the left of me, and Miss Dainty Dollymix on the right 3-I'm not going to lie, seeing Plan B in concert pretty much made my YEAR it was that good. Seriously the best concert I've ever been to 4- Hair and sweated off make up for Plan B concert. Hair looking awful... and 5-Yay! Shitty webcam pic but real BLONDE hair again for the first time in a year! 6-Trying to drink a lot more water than usual..and Barry M Emerald Green nails, with Models Own Silver Spangle on tips and Rimmel Matte Finish 7- Navy blue polka dot matt nails I've been rocking to match the dress in picture 2 8/9/10-all albums on repeat on my iPod right now. In actual love with Swedish House Mafia!

Small shopping trip

Hey dolls!

Sorry for not posting for a short while, where have these past few months gone! A few weeks ago me and my bestie decided to go to Sallys after work and see if there were any bargains to be had. When we eventually found the place I can't really say I was overlly impressed but I did pick up a few bits.

I found a few OPI polishes in the clearence section at the back and eventually picked up these two.

They were £2.99 I think each which of course is a lot cheaper than they are when they're full price (they are over £10). I have no idea if they are in the clearence seciton as they are being discontinued or anything, or if they get cheaper the longer they have been around - I have never bought or really been interested in buying OPI polishes. I like nail polish but the idea of parting with over £10 for a bottle kills me! The colours I picked up were (from L - R) It's Sheer Luck and Los Cabos Coral.

Also in the clearance section I picked up these three polishes, brands I have never heard of -

I picked the Attitude polishes because I thought they looked gorgeous colours. When I came to using them they are both completley different consistencies, the pink is thick and really only needs one coat where as the grey one is practically see through! God knows how many coats you would need for this one - I didn't have the time to find out so just took it straight off. I bought the Black 'Nina Ultra Pro' one because I really want a black polish that is quite thick to be able to use on my Konad - my Barry M polish is rubbish and I hoped this would be better; it isn't, so I'm still on the lookout!

On my way to the tills I passed the China Glaze stand and I really took to this flurescent pink polish. I think it was £3.99 with discount. I really don't know why I keep buyinh China Glaze polishes - the colours are gorgeous but I just can't stand the thin and runny formula. I put this on my toes and it looks totally different on each foot - one looks like its got hardly any one, the other looks just alright, although both have the same.

Lastly I picked up some more of these lepoard print strips - I absolutley love them, it's just a shame they get used so fast! I get approx two uses out of them, one strip pretty much does ten fingers.

After eating a scrummy Nandos at the White Rose we headed down to Boots where I picked up some of Boots Cucumber Wipes which smell soo fresh and gorgeous! I went in with the intention of buying a clear nail varnish and a powder and ended up deciding I needed a new foundation. I have read a few people of Twitter saying they love MaxFactor Second Skin Foundation so I decided on this. Rimmel had 3 for 2 on so I picked up a Stay Matte Powder plus another Sun Shimmer Bronzer - I absolutely love this, it is a total staple for my make up collection every year.

The third Rimmel product got me totally excited as I didn't even know it exsisted! I have been hankering after a matte topcoat for ages but like I said I don't like spending an awful lot on polish! When I saw this I couldn't wait to try it and I haven't used a normal topcoat since I bought it. I also love the brush shape! It's so easy to use!

Have you got any of these polishes?

Go Blonder!

I was recently sent John Frieda Sheer Blonde 'Go Blonder' Shampoo and Conditioner for review.

The products are described as 'lightening shampoo/conditioner' and the front of the bottle says 'gradually lightens blonde for sun kissed sparkle'.

The product I imagined it to be like in my head was Timotee - the blonde one, I remember it came out when I was in my last year or so of school and I used it religiously! Although I can't honestly remember if it made any difference.

I haven't had my hair coloured for...lets just say a very long time, too long! My hair has always been blonde but what with highlighting it more and more as I got older, and then dying it brown and back to blonde recently now I just get a full head of hair and get awfully dark roots when the colour begins to fade. I was sick of looking in the mirror and seeing a mixture of dark and light and I really wanted to dye my hair and make it more blonder before I started using these products.

I picked up a L'Oreal box dye in quite a blonde colour - in the past when I have dyed my own hair I always use colours like Ash Blonde and when I saw all the lovely blondeness on the boxes I just picked up a gorgeous bright one. When I was dying it I kept looking at it and thinking, I'm sure this looks more gingery than it should, but I prevailed and in the end when I washed my hair...it definitely had a ginger tinge.  I washed it three times that day in urgency to fade the colour, but at the end of the day it was still tinted ginger - and only at the top too, I looked like my natural hair colour was ginger and I had dyed it blonde and let the blonde run out. I had in my head imagined having lovely fresh blonde hair so was disappointed :( I took a few rubbish pictures on my phone, these do not show how bad it looked IRL at all, but nevertheless:

And the next day at work (after yet another wash)

That night I picked up the John Frieda Go Blonder Shampoo without much enthusiasm - I didn't think they would really work for me now my hair wasn't 'blonde'. Both shampoo and conditioner are a bright yellow colour - the shampoo more of a pearly colour and the conditioner totally reminds me of when you are a little kid and you're poorly, and you need to get that vile tasting banana antibotics?! Both smell pretty good. When I got out of the bath I dried and straightened my hair without looking in the mirror and afterwards I was really shocked - they really had worked! My hair undoubtly looked brighter - Itried to take some pictures but, once again, they were rubbish, so I have just the one.

I have kept up using these and really am impressed - I have since read other reviews from people raving about these products, including brunettes. John Frieda products are quite often on offer in Boots and if you see this (on offer or not!) I would definetly suggest picking these up.

Price - £5.59 per 250ml each - currently on 2 for £7 at Boots

Rating out of 10 - 9/10 (Aussies 3 minute miracle makes it hard for other brands to beat, or this would have got 10/10!)

Would I repurchase - Definetly - and I will need to soon, as mine are coming to an end!

Here is a link to the official website if you wish to read further. http://www.johnfrieda.co.uk/products_sheer_blonde_go_blonder.asp

Have you ever used these, what are your views?

While we are on the subject of gorgeous hair, this is pretty much what I would like to look like right now:

I don't really like Kristen Stewart but I think she looks stunning here, and her hair looks so sexy!

Make Up Storage *

Hello lovelies

I always find other peoples make up storage posts interesting so I thought I would have a tidy out of all my make up and show you all how I store it :)

I have two boxes - the one on my bedside cabinet (I don't know what to call it - bedside box?! It's not a cabinet I know but box sounds crap!!) stores pretty much all my make up and the one on the floor is lipsticks and nail varnish. Oh, and 'inside' the bedside cabbibox (!) I have my bangles (remember when I was obsessed with buying them? I swear I never wear hardly any of them anymore :( Need to start again!)

I try to keep my nail varnishes neatly kept together by what make they are - nothing makes me happier than seeing 10+ white Models Own lids liner up, followed by a row of silver round Nails Inc lids and all the Barry M ones *geek* but I usually make it all neat and then get an urge to paint my nails with whatever is right at the bottom, and end up tipping it all over the floor and then just throwing it all back in!

I just remembered I never posted about this, I found another nail kit in Pound World this time, and I think it's much better than the one I bought here from Pound Land! If only for the fact that its a better looking kit!! I'm so fickle

I used it the other day and it didn't last very long but then again I find little things like this never do :/

I swear my lipstick drawer is like the Bermuda Triangle (wish I hadn't mentioned that, everytime I think about the bermuda Triangle I literally sit for half an hour + just thinking about it and how weird it is!!) - each time I look in there I find a lipstick/gloss/balm I had either forgotten I'd bought or don't even remember buying! It's great!

I have all my facial make up products in the bottom drawer, my blushers etc (Yinka wouldn't be too impressed, I only have 5 blushers!):

All my eyeliners have their own little drawer on top, as do my palettes (currently being shared with some flossing kit apparantly) and mascaras:

My top drawer (favourite and most dipped into) houses all my eyeshadows and other palettes that won't fit in the other drawer.

I keep my brushes (not many, can't say I really use them apart from the basic brushes) in a little pink pot that used to be a money box until I altered it a little bit!

I managed to pick this up the other week for a bit cheaper than in the shops, and I am in absolute LOVE with it. The only problem I have is that I don't want to carry it around with me, but I use it to put half my make up on! it's so incredibly soft I have been caught just sat staring into space stroking it onto my face :s

If anyone is interested enough I will do a little post about where I store all my other non make up products, let me know!

Thanks for reading xXx

Postcard Project 1 #

I recently took part in Nikolett's 'Postcard Project' as I LOVE postcards and the idea of a postcard swap with bloggers in other countries really appealed to me!

I sent out a card to the blogger I was paired with and also one to Nikolett to say thanks for starting this project, and last weekend I received one back from Nikolett.

A little story about me and Nikolett: Last Christmas on her blog she wrote about one of her favourite films, Serendipity, which is also one of my favourites too! Almost every time we spoke to each other we mentioned the film, and at Christmas when we sent each other Christmas cards we both (unknowingly) wrote about the film in our cards!

Recently  have been looking continuously in brochures for America and last week was reading about Niagara Falls, googling it to find more about it and generally wishing I could go! The next day when Nikolett's card popped through the door...I couldn't believe it had Niagara Falls on the front! I went onto Twitter on my phone to tweet Nikolett and say a big thank you but I couldn't find her name for some reason and after looking for half an hour, I gave up and thought I would do it at the weekend...when a tweet came through from Nikolett herself!!! Talk about fate!!!

Thank you for my postcard lovely!

Manchester Goodies

The only place I spent in on my trip to Manchester for the Aussie event was good old Primark, although I saw lots of housey things I wanted in Urban Outfitters and lovely clothes in Mango, and could have had a rummage around the sales elsewhere, I decided to be good and stick to the cheapest place!

I picked up this denim jacket, as did Sinead, which was £13,

and this blue and white checked shirt, which I think was £6 or something like that:

Excuse the crap pictures, I really struggle to take mirror pics, I don't know how you lot do it, I always look like a right idiot and nothing like I actually look!

I also picked up these earrings, which I guess maybe a little chavy but I like my big earrings!

And this ring which I am in love with!!

The earrings were £1.50 and ring £2.50.

At the Aussie Event we were of course given a gift bag on the way out which had some more fab Aussie products,

A Maxfactor liquid eyeliner which I can't wait to use, and a gorgeous individual little gift! We all got different things, and I got a lovely little ring:

When I was taking pictures for this post I found some other bits I've got recently which I thought I would show you, these gorgeous earrings my parents brought me back from Portugal...

I've worn them so much, I'm having to put them somewhere I won't see them on a morning or I'll end up wearing them every day! I also nipped into Primark a couple of weeks ago and picked up this ring and matching earrings, but the earrings made my ears go a bit gross after I wore them, so I'll just have to look at them instead I guess! :(

And a little picture of the top drawer of my jewellery box after a little clear out :)

I also picked up this Lacura Gradual Tan Daily Facial Moisturiser a few weeks ago and I started using it today, so if it is any good I will let you know! It smells gorgeous!

Thanks for reading, and thank you to Aussie once again :)
